Well, it sounds as if it's a good thing. Warmth? I'll go with something summery, too. You weren't expecting it, so it can't be clothing you ordered. A gift? Hmm...

Is it good for our mental health to be left guessing like this?

If seeds have some warmth to them, then perhaps it was a plant? The place you order plants from discovered that you've bought the magic number and are rewarding you with a plant you'll never like.

An official letter from the government that says you have to pay some sort of weird new tax that they invented just to give you a hard time?

It did need to be signed for. It wasn't a letter. It wasn't anything that I ordered and forgot about. It isn't the result of someone dying.

Seeds?
No, but there's a touch of warmth in your answer!

Was it a subpoena?

The day did get better as far as the withdrawals went. I can't believe that I forgot to mention that today makes one year since I've had a drink.

A size 6 bikini.

I am left curiously confused by this post... My first instinct was to say that I wish I'd be able to fit into a size 6 bikini but then I realised that I'd never wear a bikini anyhow so did it really matter?

Of sorts... but it didn't come from a company that I'd ever ordered plants before because they don't sell plants!

Oh absolutely. We need to have a little fun in this thread from time to time.

I was starting to think bulbs, but this sounds more accurate.

Maybe one day I'll be able to eat something that has been produced. Will be at least a couple of years though, if not longer.

Zzzzactly!

A banana tree!

A little redwood tree, and when it gets tall enough, over there, you'll eat the bark!

A grape vine!

Roberta, sorry you're having a bad day today. Have you been sorting through boxes? Has that triggered things perhaps?

I should be doing that, but I haven't started yet. I've just thought about starting it.

I'm having withdrawals again today that are pretty bad. I can't really put my finger on what would bring them on, other than the meds leaving my system.

I know that there are some mental triggers going on:
1- Tomorrow is dd#1's 22nd birthday.
2- I'm invited to go to several parties this weekend.
3- I haven't checked into a pdoc here.
4- I haven't called my therapist to make an appt.
5- The house is a disgusting, filthy mess. I am in no way, shape or form a neat freak. For me to complain about how messy the house is means that it is really bad.
6- I did something to mess my back up and now I need to go see a chiropractor.
7- I did just have a sobriety birthday. While those are milestones, they can be hard to deal with in themselves.
8- Construction workers are driving me crazy!! They've been working on the road in front of my house since May. They tore the road up and are widening it. They removed about 1/3 of the front yard on most of the houses on this side of the street. They are noisy and dusty and the equipment shakes the house. They don't think they will be done before the middle of August.
9- Starting new NA meetings and meeting new people. Rewarding, but emotionally challenging.
10- I think my scale is broken. It's said 188 all week. I went around yesterday thinking that maybe I did need a new scale since there was no variation. What did it say this morning? 189.5!

OK, that's a long enough rant list of problems.

Do these 3 things today or tomorrow and ignore the rest right now...

Do this first. Your therapist may be able to suggest a psychiatrist.

Roberta, ditch the scales. Go by the way you feel physically and the way your clothes fit, not what some little numbers say.

Have you been to your first meeting yet? If so, congratulations. If not, when is it?

Wow. You are dealing with a lot of stuff. I pray for your strength, courage, joy, and something to make you laugh so deeply that you will remember that laugh a long time.

I didn't have a scale for a year and a half. I like using a scale.

Did you know, redwood trees grow in the UK too. There is a beautiful long line of them that leads up to the big house (think Lord of the Manor stuff!) in the city I used to live in.

I actually won 2 things. One was a bottle of this, which is a fruit drink. These days most of them have artificial sweetners in them. This doesn't, but is fairly expensive. At least I get to try it first and find out if I like it. I figured as Americans have a problem with 'squash' being a drink, I wouldn't expect you to get that...

Maggie was quickly on the right track. The other thing I won (as part of the same competition) was a crab apple tree seedling. It's about 45cm now ~ but can grow very large. That'd be interesting in my 4m sq garden! If I do, and it gives me some apples, I'll be able to make crab apple jelly. Yum yum!

I should have said former seeds for a tree.

I've heard of that drink before, but I don't know anyone IRL who has tasted it.

Squash! Sounds like a game to me! -- Or a vegie!

Winning something is always fun -- it's that surprise vfactor -- that "Who -- me?" thang.

Have fun!

Well, it's been a long time since I won anything (that I can recall!) and while I knew that I'd won something (they emailed me and requested my address) I didn't connect this signed for 'letter' with winning the competition.

I haven't tried the squash yet. I bought a little water/drink pitcher yesterday in the sales and aim to make some up in that and put it in the fridge to keep it cold, but probably won't get that organised until the w/end. I've got to sort some stuff out in my lounge first. I'd probably knock it flying if I used it in my bedroom as I don't really have a table to set it on.

Indeedy yes... though the majority are less than 200 years old ~ still babies really! Strangely enough, looking at a website for locations ~ there were some growing in the park that was across the road from our flat when we were children. We used to play there a lot... I never realised what they were though!

I'm so glad that I love my teenager.

ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE SHINING MOMENTS IN PARENTING

I can't believe that she actually thought I'd say yes.
