Roberta, I'm glad your trip turned out well, even if you didn't enjoy Union Station (that's in Chicago, right?).

Yup. I am not fond of Chicago either. I'm just not a city girl. Even though I grew up a stone's throw away from San Francisco, I don't like heavily populated areas.

I'm glad you're feeling better. I hope you get some permanent relief soon.

I have had some pretty good MH days. I hope today goes as well. I have a lot of things that I feel I need to get done, like washing the curtains and drapes, vacuuming, etc.

I thought about going and looking at a dog today. She is a three year old black lab, fixed, all of her shots updated. The only thing is that the owners want her to have a place where she can run that is why they are finding a new home for her. I don't have that. I have room for a dog, but the owners were looking for someone who has a couple of acres. I just have a good sized back yard. Also, I want a puppy.

Glad you had good MH days, Roberta. I'd like a dog too, but I'm really not home often enough, and it wouldn't be fair to the dog. Also, the management here not only makes dog owners pay deposits, but adds somewhere in the neighborhood of $100 (USD) to the monthly rent. So, I guess I won't be getting a dog, at least as long as I live here.

Today was dh's 50th birthday. He was not at all happy about this. We went out for Chinese food, which made him feel a bit better, I hope.

$100/mo extra in rent for a pet or at least for a dog? Boy does that give me reason to be glad Angel is a service dog. But geez, $100/mo.

Roberta, nice to see you made it. :)

My back finally feels better, something in the area of my sacroiliac joint popped rather loudly Fri. night and the swelling went down within an hour. Though I've noticed that if I carry much, it'll pop back out and swell up again and I have to work to tweak it back into place. Oh, and I finally got a referral to pain management - now that the whatever popped and everything feels SO much better (for now). But at least I can do more than lie on my belly.

Glad to hear you are feeling better womaninchrist, although the popping joint itself sounds like a painful cure.

I think sometimes they charge less than $100. I know they can charge $100, if they want to. I see tons of dogs around here, though, and I can't believe everyone is paying that much per month on top of ridiculously high rent.

I'm going to check into whether or not I can get a service dog. I've heard that they can be instrumental in helping with panic disorders, but I'm not sure if that qualifies them as being a necessity to be with the owners at all times or not.

Roberta, I took ds3 to see his new psychiatrist today. The doctor has a dog as part of his practice. It's a beautiful dog and quite large--a terrier, I think, but not a little one.

I have no use for little dogs. I want a puppy that will turn into a great big dog!

I think that's great Maggie... I know not everyone likes animals, but so many benefit from contact with one ~ even on a short term basis like that.

Glad that his appointment came through.

I go to see my psychologist on Friday. Yesterday was not a particularly good day. I had a card through my door on Friday to say that the postie had tried to deliver a letter that needed me to sign for it. I rearranged delivery for yesterday to my local post office, as I knew I had a doctor's appointment yesterday. Went to the post office after the doctor's and they said that it wasn't there. Came home ~ to find a card through my door saying they'd tried to redeliver the letter. I phoned the royal mail who apologised and said that they could redeliver to the post office tomorrow! I logged a complaint, which I wouldn't normally do, but they don't do a lot for the 'first complaint'. They'll have to do something if it goes wrong tomorrow.

The most annoying thing is, I don't have a clue who the letter is from or what's in it!

LOL! I am swinging between the thought that someone has sent me some money for some reason (though haven't a clue why or who) and it being from a company I owe money to ~ but I've made arrangements with all but one of repaying and the one I haven't, I spoke with this evening and told them that the advice bureau would be in touch now I knew who was dealing with it so I can't imagine it's that...

Ahhh well... all will be revealed tomorrow with luck!

Agapetos, I hope they get things straigtened out. The waiting and wondering would drive me up the nearest wall - and rather quickly.

Roberta, if you're thinking about a service dog, two good places to start for info are the Doris Day Animal League (this one's good for housing info, including for what's called an emotional support animal) and for service dogs specific to psychiatric conditions, I'd recommend starting with the Psychiatric Service Dog Society.

Well... I got my to be signed for 'letter' and you will never ever guess what it was...

But I'll let ya guess for a bit if you can be bothered!

Roberta, sorry you're having a bad day today. Have you been sorting through boxes? Has that triggered things perhaps?

The letter was from the estate of your great-great uncle who passed away in 1966, leaving you a fortune, but they have not been able to locate you. It was stock he purchased in a company that was hardly a company at the time. The young man who owned it was little Billy Gates, who was trying to develop what we now call the Internet.

Your stock just sat there, gathering benefits all these years. Although there have been some problems of late, your personal stock in the company is now worth a little over $256,000,000 dollars.

I love it, Abijah!

I already guessed the rich uncle a day or two ago so, hmmm. Something you ordered and forgotten about and now, two years later, it has arrived.

Based on how you worded your question, I'm thinking it's something you think needed no signature and it's not a letter.

Seeds?

Me too!
It did need to be signed for. It wasn't a letter. It wasn't anything that I ordered and forgot about. It isn't the result of someone dying.

No, but there's a touch of warmth in your answer!
