I would. My friends are in here. Not in a TV.

Are you one of those folks who voted they'd give up their tv before their internet?

I didn't see that on the Primary election ballot. Will it be on the General ballot in November?

I already have! I rarely watch tv. But you can get tv tuners for computers, and then you could be watching tv in a corner of your screen while chatting with friends in another corner, and reading and writing in forums in yet another.

How are you doing, Ben?

Not really good. She wants to evict our son from the house. I'm trying to convince him it is in his best interests to use county services available to him to get help with housing and work. He's stubborn though and wants to do it all on his own.

Went to church yesterday, first time in a looooong time. I'd forgotten what it was like to be challenged. It's about time I was again.

In what way were you challenged?

In what way were you challenged?

That rather than waiting for a heavenly reward in the future, instead the reward has already been given in the here and now. I have claimed Phil 4:8 in the past and was reminded about it again.
Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
If I do this, keep my eyes and thoughts on those things (which are Christ Himself), my reward is with me now.

There is much fodder for good mental health in that passage.

Today when I changed the internet, phone and satellite TV at the house it hit me even more than moving my belongings or signing for the apartment. Even though I know it and have known it, things will never be the same again. I want to cry.

I am so sorry for your pain, Ben. You will definitely go through a time of grieving, probably not a whole lot different from my grief. Something you worked long and hard at and which was part of your life for what, 30 years? 25? It's half your life! It's going to be tough for sure.

Hi Ben, I've been thinking of your post and wanted to say that I said a prayer for you earlier. Change is hard, I pray for peace and for you to be settled real soon.
