Greeting Den.
My internet has finally quit hating me so I can sneak in a post.
(only 2 months left on contract till I can switch to satellite.)

My grass has exploded into a green carpet and the daffodils are blooming like mad. Got hammered by 2 massive thunder storms, thankfully, all I got was rain, More rain, wind and a 5 minute dusting by dime sized hail. No damage, but still a muddy mess.

I think I see trees budding and will sprout leaves soon. No doubt spring is in the air.

I tried to make a new item for dinner, but I over spiced it. It's so hot I can't taste the other ingredients (but not too hot to eat ) going to have to try again and half the spices.

That and I have to ask my neighbor why he uses a tornado siren to call in his cows. He flicked that thing on during a thunder storm and I about had a melt down.

It took me a sec to get the honeymoon salad. When I saw the lioness had a moment's pause as well, I felt better.

I expect you did. Good grief.

Glad your internet stopped hating you.

We're having another day of sunshine. I'm beside myself happy about this.

I should take a picture of what snow that lasts and lasts looks like for all you who wax poetic about how beautiful snow is. Black snow is just about the ugliest thing there is.

Just think, y'all will only have to listen to me kvetch about snow for about another 4 or 5 weeks.

I'll kvetch about rain.

And then I'll kvetch about mowing.

And then I'll kvetch about being too hot.

For about 2 weeks after that I won't complain (about the weather )

And then I'll start kvetching about snow again!

I work for the government we don't have a schedule; 0700-1600 M-F except federal holidays. Easy peasy.

Make that 0800 - 1630 for me... or is that 1650.... or oh bother, I always hated military time. 8 - 4:30 for most of us county goobers, however I do work a flex scheule and come in early, take half a lunch hour and have every other Friday off .

Make that 0630 - 1500 for me, Su - Thurs. Although next week it's changing. Will be 1430 - 2300 and hopefully Thurs - Mon.

Boots, did you hear about the 7 yr old boy that made a 911 call when some guys tried a home invasion? It's on Yahoo's home page right now - apparently it was reported on GMA this morning since the video clip is the GMA crew.

I didn't. I searched it out when I read this though. Wow - he was so good! Smart kid, too. That could have ended horribly wrong, but the Lord was obviously looking out for them. Thanks for pointing that out!

It's so difficult sometimes. You get those little kids and you just don't know whether they are playing with you because they were taught no respect for law enforcement and think it's funny. And then there are those moments like that 7 year old boy on that news clip. One of the most serious situations, and a definite emergency. Good for that kid tho. I hope the local Police or Sheriff's Department does some kind of special positive recognition for him.

Good to see you back Pam!

Boots, glad you found the clip. I bet it is really hard to tell with kids - I know I was thinking of my grandson and thinking that it would be hard to teach him about how serious it would be to call 911 without scaring him too much to use it when he needed to!

I had to laugh when he told 911 to send "lot's of cops" and "soldier's too!" That boy was serious! And with darn good reason.

Well Lioness, all that sunshine that we had the last couple weeks must have found it's way to you, we have fog and rain now. Yesterday, today and I guess for a few days coming. I want our sunshine back... not taken away from Lioness or anyone else, just spread around again to include my area! At least it's "warm", still in the 40's and the black snow is melting fast.

Hi Pam.

His name is Piper and he is 6 months old. He is a character and since this is the first dog I have owned after a lifetime of cats, this is a new experience for me. He is a real character. I like to take him with me when I drive, he loves it. Pam (my wife) has had a lot of shelties over the years and some do not like to ride in cars, but he does.

We found out this week that he goes crazy over fig newtons, he will jump up and take it out of my hand.

Today I took him and my 3 and a half year old nephew to the park and we all had a blast. Of course Piper and my nephew are about the same age in people years.
