Well, it is still WINDY here we have sun but very high winds as I was walking home yesterday I saw shingles that had blown off roofs (or is it roves???)

New rant:

A local news website posted an update on a businessman and a friend of mine who had a major heart attack last Saturday. There was a one sentence paragraph part way down that jumped out at me:

Death is eminent.

Does anyone proof read news posts?

Instead of "Death is imminent" or near, I'm informed that Death is well known or famous. But, then, maybe that is what the journalist wanted to convey....

I emailed the author of the article and, as politely as I could, pointed out the meaning of the two words. He changed it to "imminent" within 20 minutes of my writing him, but he never replied to my email...

I would say he "responded" by changing it; at least in his mind.

I don't know about that Kerr - if she really had a jury of her peers (divorced Mom's with similiar X's) she'd probably never have been convicted in the first place!

Ha! I just remembered...there was a businessman in town who also had it coming to him. His wife walked into his business and shot him in the chest. She got off on some lesser charge.

Her husband didn't die immediately but it was fatal. After her trial, she tried to sue the hospital and dr. for not saving him.

Believe me, I'd have let well enough alone.

It doesn't look like it will be sunny today. But we've had some sun so I'm not complaining. It might rain some and that'll melt the snow fast. I'm on a hill so I don't have to worry about flooding.

You know people who argue about something and then continue to argue after you've given them the facts? I hate that.

Anyway, I had an employee not show up yesterday and when we called her, she insisted she wasn't on the schedule. Okay, mistakes happen. But upon being told that she was indeed supposed to be at work, she didn't apologize and get there as quickly as she could. No, no. Instead she argued that the schedule had been changed, which it hadn't been, and refused to come to work. Guess who ended up having to work her shift?

What is with people who tell you they want more hours and then don't work when they could?

'Morning Lioness.

Funny how some people think their employer should be glad they work for them instead of being glad they have a job

. I can understand the mix up, maybe even saying you thought the schedule must have been changed because you were just sure you had checked it... but then to refuse to come in, well that is a bit beyond sanity.

As much as I would love to retire, I am grateful for a good job with good benefits that is pretty stable and I try to do a good job. Some days that's easier than others though

I have been having this problem all week. On Monday I told GC "tomorrow's Wednesday". She naturally looked at me like I had lobsters coming out of my ears.

And I thought surely today was Thursday.

Oh yeah, I can see it. I obviously have trouble keeping track of what day it is myself.

And it's happened many times with many employees. It happens. I've never had anyone not panic and apologize and tell me they'd be there immediately before.

I do have to say I have 3 girls (2 of them GC's age) who are worth their weight in gold. So some people are still growing up with a good work ethic, thank goodness.

Oh me too! I was all off yesterday! I kept thinking today was going to be Thursday (and to be honest with you, it feels like Thursday) but it's only Wednesday. The best news is its payday...now I can go back to being broke after paying all my bills.
