Hello! Happy New Year everyone!

I have trouble remembering to write the new year on checks for a few months, off and on.

But my biggest problem is when I write a check on my kid's birthdays. I always write the year they were born instead of the current year. I have to really think about it if I need to write a check that day.

Happy New Year, Kath!

For me it's writing the date on *my* birthday. I always put the wrong year.

1987 was a good year for music. And my favorite songs of the 80's.

My favorite 80's music year was 1988, which I remember well because that's the year I broke out on my own!

Isn't that the way it really should be?

Yep, MC knows what's what. It's not a very good pic but my avatar shows how he has everyone clustered around Jesus.

I've got the same problem.

I put the right year on my rent check today. We'll see how long it is before I slip up.

My pork and sauerkraut were delicious. I think part of that was just because it tasted so good to eat real food instead of cookies and/or appetizers.

On the other hand, though I don't do it often, I am an excellent cook.

My Mom used to love pork and sauerkraut, she often put country pork ribs in a crockpot with the kraut, is that what you use?

I make a soup with sausage, butter beans and cabbage in it but I've been thinking the saurkraut would be good in it instead of the cabbage...

Oh, that does sound good! Cabbage or kraut, it's all good.

I got a big ol' pork loin, enough for several meals and used a piece of that. Mighty tasty.

Yes! We would have had fun!

My mom and I went to see The Blindside today. It was a special treat for the two of us. We only see a movie together about once a year.

Happy New year !!

Thank God the holidays are over.

We had the traditional Ham and blackeyed peas.
(suppose to have collared greens as well but no thanks, I'll skip it)

The kids lite off fireworks and TheJosh accidentally sent a screamer under his sister's truck and out the other side TheKyla about fell to pieces while TheJosh and I died laughing.

The Blue moon is out and big and bright (yeah - no more clouds//rain )
I couldn't convince my Mom that a blue moon isn't really blue

Good Morning! It's snowing. Again.

I guess I'll take the decorations down. But not till I've had several more cups of coffee.

Oh, and the people who run past my house...in the morning...in the snow...really irk me.

As well it should irk you! Don't these silly people know they should be inside drinking coffee? Go figure.

I'm trying to talk myself into taking down the decorations too. My normal routine is to do it New Year's day, but the cold kept me cuddled up in my recliner yesterday. Maybe I could milk that excuse for the rest of the weekend? Funny how I love to put up the decorations but really hate to have to put them all away again!

Are you feeling any better, Gma? I hope so.

I hate dragging all the boxes and bins, etc. up but, once I'm started, taking it all down doesn't take long. GC will have to do the Christmas break homework she has (don't even get me started on what I think of Christmas break homework ) and MC will be intentionally obtuse about which bins I want brought up from the basement so, if it's to get done, I'll be the one doing it.

LOL, MC is typical kid/male. I always had the same problem with either the kids or the Ex.

Every year as I'm "putting away" I swear I'm not going to put so much up next year. And every "next year" I do it again.

I do have to manage to get myself dressed and out to the grocery store sometime today, if we want to keep eating anyway.

Sugar! I forgot I have to go in to work. The nitwit bookkeeper at the accountant's office sent the payroll checks here instead of to the store so I have to take them in to the girls early instead of going in 'when I get around to it' like a normal Saturday. Bleh. It's way too snowy and cold to go out.

Ah well, I'll see y'all later then.
