DD has an appt. today. I wish she would hurry up and start nesting. I want a clean house!

Well at least your baby won't have to share their birthday with your anniversary, right? I'm glad you're feeling well physically- how are you doing otherwise? What are your doctor's thoughts on induction?

I am actually very glad baby will have her own special day - unless she takes my nephew's birthday on the 2nd. :-)

I go back and forth between feeling anxious and just wanting her here, and feeling very apprehensive and in denial about about her impending arrival. You would think having all these months to mentally prepare myself would make it seem more like a reality, but it just seems more and more like a dream to me. Although, it finally feels a little more real now that I'm 40 weeks! Maybe it would be different if we were back home with our family and friends.

I am nervous about how things will go once I am in labor. Our boss, being Japanese and going with traditional Japanese customs, is not allowing my husband to miss work for the birth. Work is top priority here and he is expected to follow suit. For this reason, we are really hoping and praying that the baby comes on a weekend!! We're also not sure who can or will be there to help translate for us. We have plenty of amazing friends who have helped us in the past, but all scheduled in advance. I'm sure we'll have someone there though. Our doctor will be out of town the 10-11th and would induce labor on the 12th (42 weeks) if baby has not come on her own by then... However, our OB is the only doctor in town who speaks some English and she has delivered foreign babies before and knows of our desires for labor and delivery and is willing to work with us (normally patients do NOT ask their doctors for special requests, i.e. birth plans!). For that reason, we have a tentative induction scheduled for the 7-8th in order for the baby to be delivered by our doctor. She said they would admit me the 7th and start the drip on the 8th, upping it on the 9th if there hasn't been any progress. Sigh. I do NOT want to be induced! The idea of an induction on top of a natural, med-free birth is quite terrifying to me. We're going to do all we can this week to get baby lined up and ready to go. Ideally, we just want baby to come on her own this weekend - that would be perfect.

I will pray that baby girl will decide to come on her own this weekend!!!!

(((Julie)))

After further research, I have found that the hospital that delivered DS *does* do VBACs. I guess I should call the doc I used with DS's pregnancy to see if he is the doc who does VBACs. He would know all of the history as well, so we'll see what happens.

Congratulations, Julie!!!

Your pregnancy with Elias was such an incredible show of faith in our Lord.

I am so happy for all of you. It's just so awesome that your baby is here and healthy!

Julie .... I still find it weird that when I scratch near my incision I can't feel it. Not having feeling is a VERY weird sensation ... or lack of sensation......

Boo on the jaundice. Hope that he picks up a couple ounces before the new doc steps in.

And yeah ... my epidural made me itch too. I had a huge rash all over my back from the tape. Maybe I'll ask about that this time around, a different kind of tape since I seemed to react to it last time.

OK. So ........ just went potty and there was some dried blood. Brown.

I'm 16 weeks 3 days.

I'm thinking maybe a result of sex. Obviously if I see more I'll call the doc. But ...... anything else I should think about?
What else could cause it in the 2nd trimester?

Anointed- praying for your next few days (hopefully not weeks. ) You have so many more situations to think about being in another country, so I pray for peace, rest, an awesome delivery, and a healthy mama and baby afterwards. OH and that your husband can be there!!!

Christine- I'm thinking you're probably right that it's from sex, since it's brown and old blood. I have heard of women passing old blood that were farther along than you even, it just worked itself out finally. But if you've been w/ your dh recently, that's more than likely what it is.

DD's appt. went fine today. She has swelling in her ankles, but dr. didn't seem too worried about it today.

*HUGS* Julie. So sorry that the baby blues are coming. I am praying that they go away and stay away!

I dont have feeling on my incision and I am 9 months PPD. I always had issues with my incision, granted that mine was an up/down incision, but feel free to ask me any questions about it. Ive had an infection in mine, stitches that didnt dissolve and whatnot. I hope that yours heals quickly, definetly take it easy and dont overdo it as that will definetly set you back.

BTW I itched from my Epi and they tried giving me Benedryl for it and it never worked. I think I itched for a week straight after it!

Christine (and others who are expecting another baby after C-section): with uterine growth, did you feel more stretching and pulling than you did in your first pregnancy?

(I don't know about the old blood, but I would definitely have it checked out if it persisted).

Good morning, everyone. I'm at 5 weeks/3 days and all is well so far. My biggest symptom so far has been being way tired, but it's hard to discern if I was this tired before?

DH and I are headed to NYC for the weekend (the trip was planned before finding out I was prego) and hopefully I'll keep feeling okay through the trip. I've got snacks packed (I had low blood sugar a week ago and learned my lesson!).

Also, I'm enjoying the fact that even though I'm no longer on a strict calorie regimen (stopped that once I found out I was pregnant), that the scale still continues to cooperate.

Last weekend we told DH's side of the family and they are enthused. In fact, we'll be able to use sis-in-law's crib and changing table (which originally came from my stepdaughter anyway!). Lots of changes coming in the months ahead (including a 10 hour drive at 6 months pregnant for Thanksgiving!)

It looks like it's almost time for a new thread!

I called the doc. They said not to worry unless it persists or is accompanied by pain. I've been cramping and feelign stretching pains, but I think it's totally unrelated.

WE're going out of town today so Josh wanted me to ask the doc. I guess better safe than sorry. I just don't like to call the doc for something I believe isn't a big deal.
