I almost bought The Naked Gospel, but didn't because there were some things that I saw on it that I wasn't sure of. Does he insinuate in the book that once you are a Christian you never have to ask forgiveness of any sins again? This was the impression that I got from the reviews, and that he is saying that God understands and is ok with whatever sins we commit? I have not read the book, and I just saw reviews on it so I am curious.... Thanks for any light you can shed on this!!!

Bought Michael Card's A Better Freedom Monday, and just finished it today. It's an excellent overview of what it means to be a slave of Christ.

ORIGINAL: PinkCarnations Just finished Where the Wild Rose Blooms by Lori Wicke. Not sure what I'm going to start next. I've read that one. Did you find the books about the orphan trains a bit sickly sweet as far as language, Roberta? Everybody is 'honey' or 'sweetheart' etc. It drove me nuts! And the way that even the kids gave mini sermons just riding their horses going somewhere. It seemed a bit much. The plot was still good though.

I just finished The Secret History by Donna Tartt and I'm not sure what I'll move on to. I still have these open: Cloudsplitter (which is excellent but so long) Telling the Truth: the Gospel as tragedy, comedy, and fairy tale (short but can't remember where I left off) The Story of Edgar Sawtelle (so close to finished but just lost interest) and Blind Man's Bluff: the untold story of American submarine espionage (which I read to dh in the car)

Just finished Vince Flynn's Term Limits and begun Transfer of Power. Term Limits was really good, and even a little thought provoking. What would the American public's reaction be if a few of the politicians that were viewed as only caring about their own seat of power and not giving two hoots about the health of the country, were assassinated? I'm not sure if there would be a great deal of sadness. What do y'all think? Duane

I don't remember the "honeys" and "sweethearts" but it's been a few years since I read them. I liked story line because it's based loosely on true events. I liked the story lines too.
