ORIGINAL: actorguy282 sad for a friend, his mom committed suicide last week and I don't know how to be there for him I am so sorry. I will pray for him ... and for you. Just being there, whether you have words or not, is important. It's okay to say you don't know what to say but want to be there for him in whatever way he needs you to be.

But I agree... sometimes all you can do is just be there. Tonight I feel tired... went for a 2 mile walk with a friend tonight... in the rain!! LOL!!! We figured the storm would stay away, and it did. But we still got a very light shower. I feel like getting to work on an assignment that's due on Wednesday, but I'm too tired tonight, so maybe tomorrow.

... happy. I had a lovely time with a friend this afternoon. We got together for a juice and I sat with her while she got her mani/pedi and a haircut. She's off to the doc now and will find out soon whether she's having a girl or a boy. ... sorry to hear the sad news for actorguy. It's not an easy time. About 6years ago my mom tried to commit suicide by taking 30 sleeping tablets. It was a really tough time. Only my maternal grandma and aunt knew the truth. The rest of the family was told my mom was overexhausted.. burned out.. For me, it felt like nobody cared about how I felt, how I was dealing with it. Or my brother or my dad. We weren't asked this. It felt like we were just told how to be there for my mom... in the hospital, when she'd come home... It stressed me out so much, my neck and shoulders hurt so bad from it. It wasn't until I pushed for it that I wanted to see a psych and actually got to see one, that I could feel better and the pain went away. What you can do for your friend? Don't change. Be there for him like you have always been there for him. He will let you know what he needs when he figures it out himself.

...tired. I cleaned out my entire closet and my room today. Gave a bunch of my clothes I won't miss to Goodwill. I did laundry, returned some stuff to the church, then went grocery shopping for me and mom. I'm very tired. ...I miss my dad today. Last time I went to Goodwill it was with my dad.

I feel blessed, even though I have the flu & I'm frustrated with my sentence diagramming homework.

...like I am happy to be home, although I love Colorado very much. ...like this air trapped in my ear from the flight home is about to drive me up the wall. ...hungry... ETA: ...sad. Today is my cousin's birthday. I haven't seen him in...oh gosh...at least 5 years. He moved in with us (his mom died and his dad ran off) when I was 3 and he was 11. He's living in Oregon right now, probably drunk (among other things).

...sleepy! Had a full day of service activities... first at my church for 1 1/2 hours vacuuming the sanctuary, then at the homeless shelter where I helped clean the floors & tables, sorted through old food donations from last year and pulled out expired jars/cans/bottles, then worked with a team that really scrubbed the buffet line down (including ALL the dishes). I'm pooped!!! But the church was well-represented, the staff were impressed, and God was glorified. ...pleased to have made a new friend. I mentioned where I lived and the conversation turned to people we knew in common. He knows most of my family! Small world!

... tired. Just came back from a turnaround, but it wasn't a short one. We went to Kathmandu and back... almost 4hrs going and 5hrs on the way back. It could have been a really easy trip but there was a little incident between crew. Luckily our supervisor was good and he made sure it got solved before we landed in Bahrain. ... happy. Cause my standby today got changed to this Kathmandu trip, we are required to get a post day off to prevent fatigue. I was meant to do 4 short flights tomorrow, so that got canceled for me. So I have one extra day to enjoy my vacation. I fly over to Taipei really really early on the 22nd. One of the captains operating that flight just did the flight to Shanghai with me, so he has already promised me a jump seat in case the flight is full. So nice of him. ... like looking forward to tomorrow's dinner. My friend is cooking. It was planned for this past Sunday, but after last week's tiring flights, I just felt like relaxing at home. I'm also meeting up with another friend during the day, possible a light lunch. But that depends on how she feels. She's meant to fly to Manila tomorrow evening, but she's feeling sick so she will see the doc tomorrow.

Pulled and stressed from almost every angle imaginable this week--all week--but thankful that God's carrying me through it and that I get to worship musically with my fingers on the piano and my voice Wednesday night at Choir and Praise Team practices.

Don't feel much of anything right now. Which probably means I should go and do something. I should wash the dishes. I really don't feel like it.

I don't feel anything, and I certainly don't feel like doing the dishes. But I've been moving furniture today and need to do some clean-up, whether I feel like it or not.

Psalms274 - sorry I didn't respond earlier. I'm not on these boards as much as I've ben in the past, unfortunately. Thanks for asking about the move. Yes, it went pretty well. I was done in 3 hours. Now for the unpacking ... I'm feeling kind of tired right now, but have to finish my homework. At my current job, I'm sick of drama. I really don't care who is getting promoted, who has favor with the boss, who is seeing whom, or about 90% of the details that I'm bombarded with every day. To be 100% honest, I don't really care about what is going on - except when it is serious. I just figure that if someone or something is out of order - because this is a ministry - God will so totally take care of it ... thoroughly and completely. As the saying goes, you can do things as much as you like, but not as long as you like. But, I feel so wierd at work because my entire focus is on getting out of here - so I try to work up some sort of interest in what is going on so it isn't completely obvious to everyone else that I'm looking. In the meantime, I've just passed phase I of a job interview and am on phase II. It isn't ministry related, but if I get it, I'll be a writer again, plus I'll be making more than double what I make here. While the money will be nice, mostly, it would be fabulous to write for a living again. The drawback though is that the people I work with are great - and with the exception of the gossip, it is good to be around believers.
