Tooshy came home from the hospital on Friday. I've been caring for her. She is getting around with a walker, but still needs a lot of help gettin in and out of bed. Thirty minutes is about as long as she can stay up at any one time in a chair. Then either she has to get up and make a lap with the walker, or she has to go back to bed.

Pain meds have been reduced because she doesn't need them as much or as often as prescribed.

The Physical Terrorist came today for an evaluation. He said that she is doing very well and is exactly where they would expect her to be. The real torture starts tomorrow.

They want you up as soon as possible to help prevent blood clots.

They did the same with Joan.

Ouchies to the pain, but I'm so glad that she's doing so well.

Last night she was starting to get cabin fever, so this morning we spent some time out on the deck, taking in the morning sunshine and nice weather. She enjoyed it very much and is now back in bed again.

Not sure how much national news this story has made, but a local five year old girl came up missing from their apartment parking lot. Eleven days into a massive search for the girl, her body was found in cement at the bottom of a local river by a fisherman.

When the news first broke with an Amber Alert, my heart sunk because I had helped a family through our church who has a young girl with the same first name. While it was somewhat of a relief to find that it was a different girl, we still know people who know the victim.

My heart goes out to the little girl. Every time I see her picture, I wish that I could protect her.

How aweful that people are capable of hurting children.

The physical terrorist took it easy on her for his first visit. That was a very good thing because she was quite nervous about it and he was very good at easing her fears.

Ray, from the moment that story broke I wondered if you knew anything about the family or knew someone who did. That story was so heartbreaking, and I heard the interview with the men who found her. They were pretty shook.

Glad to hear that Tooshy is coming along pretty good.
A coworker of mine had her surgery the day before Tooshy and we have now heard anything from her. Hope hers is going well too.
Please say hi to Tooshy for me, okay?

And I think it points out that we're not all going in the same direction.

Today in the news they have confirmed by DNA testing what everyone already knew...that the body found was Nevaeh. There has been an article about it in each day's paper, but today also listed her name in the obituaries.

Ray, your link up there didn't work for me. It took me to a page that had Photobucket logo but said "The action that you were trying to perform has failed."

Soooooo, I went looking. Is this the one you meant to link to?

How sad about the little girl.

I'm glad that Tooshy is recovering so well.

Ray, I remembered you saying that you watched the finale of Biggest Loser. Is that the one which had the couples? We had that over here last year. We might have been the guinea pigs for it being in the US, because as I watch the US version, I was thinking that in the Australian version, they'd do X next, and sure enough, the US version then did it. Who won the US Biggest Loser?

Glad you found the thread.

The deck is even larger than it looks in the photo because the picture was taken on the deck. So it's not all in view. That's a little over half of it. I built the deck myself a few years ago. There was a small amount of help a couple times from my wife, Dad and friends, but I did about 95% of the work alone.

They've had viewings for Nevaeh for the last couple days and the funeral is tomorrow. There's nothing worse than a tiny casket. Also on display is her favorite blanket. I didn't go but it's been on TV coverage here.

The last couple seasons have been couples. The latest winner was Helen.

Do you remember last year's biggest loser winner? I don't remember there being a Helen on the one we're seeing now.

You're not wrong there. A friend of mine buried her baby last month. She'd only been 24 weeks pregnant when he decided to come into the world. He lasted 3 days. The coffin was so small, and the small teddy bear beside it was so much bigger than he was. It was so sad.

How's the patient doing today?

The previous season was couples. The winner was Michelle.

Overall today was a good day. She had the last of her staples pulled this morning and is very pleased to have the staples out and bandages removed.

This evening we went out to a dinner theater at church. While it was great for her to get out of the house, the event ran long and we ended up leaving early. Despite that, she did last quite a while and I'm sure it was nice to say hello to a lot of her friends. Some of them were quite amazed at her progress.

Her physicat terrorist today said that she has made remarkable progress. She can lift her leg now. She's regaining motion and strength in her knee joint, and is able to get in and out of bed without assistance. Monday is the date that has been set for me to go back to w***. Her ability to get in and out of bed without assistance is a huge accomplishment that gives her enough independence to allow me to go back to w***. They have given her more and more excersizes to do, increasing intensity appropriate to her abilities.

And she's ready for me to go back to w***.

Yeah, I was telling her just today that already she would be able to manage the steps into the travel trailer.
