I never post in the one stop threads. Too much material to cover.

I tend to just scroll through most one stops with occasionally reading something that may be interesting.

Miss Fingernails came today...but with a 102 fever. She claimed she can't wear a mask, so we had to call John's cousin again. We can't risk getting Swine Flu. Especially John. I'm very appreciative of John's cousin. He's teaching this month, and we had another testimony to hear for Membership Committee, so we needed to be there.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels frustrated/intimidated by one-stop threads. Rebakah, I really liked your idea of stopping and restarting them periodically. I think that might make them more accessible. Have you thought of suggesting it to Fritz?

Do any of you feel frustrated by one-stop threads?

Absolutely. I can't say everything I want to say in one stop.

What lawyer can say everything he/she wants to say in any situation?

You have a point there.

Hi folks. I updated my blog yesterday, but when I try to put the new title in my signature, I get this message. Can anyone translate the computerese into English.

I cleared some data from my computer last week. Could that be the problem?

Put it in Bug Reports or something. A lot of people, including me and Trish (Ariella), have had trouble changing the sig. I've tried to update my sig to insert my new blogs, but no luck.

Thanks, Slushie...evidently the problem's on their end. I tried changing portals and changing browsers, and still got the same message. Therefore, I don't think it's from cleaning my cache. And you and Trish are having the exact problem that I'm having! I'll report it.

A bunch of us also haven't been able to change our avatars. It's probably all related.

Okay, so John was scheduled to teach Adult Sunday School today, and after church both us us were scheduled to hear testimonies of prospective church members (we're part of the membership committee. At 7:00 a.m Ms Fingenails calls...her car won't start. Praise God for John's cousin, who came and got me up in time for church. Yes, John taught!

No wonder I have little sympathy for people who skip church if they don't "feel" like it. (Trish, I'm not referring to you; you have legitimate health issues.)

Thanks, Deb.

I'm still trying to catch up on my subs, so please excuse me.

Best time of my life? I can think of 2 times. The first time I fell in love. It didn't end well though. The second time was the day I gave my life to Christ.

I'm tired, but a happy tired. We had lunch at Fanueil Hall yesterday, and then wheeled back to South Station via the waterfront. We hope to take a Boston Harbor Cruise from Long Wharf for my birthday, tides permitting (at high tide, wheelchairs can't get to the docks because the water elevates the piers). Then, as we got further toward South Station, we found that the Independence Wharf Hotel (built on the actual site of the Boston Tea Party) has an Observatory on the 14th floor--we'll visit that sometime!

Hi Deb, of yes I knew about that as well, but never checked it out myself. I was at Faneuil Hall myself earlier tonight and ended up slipping on some salad dressing that someone dropped but never cleaned up! It took me by surprise!

It wasn't my dressing, Mike--I had a hot dog and a cannoli! Hope you weren't hurt.

We're watching the HBO series on John Adams (getting it through Netflix), and learning a lot! I'm so fascinated by the Revolution, especially the events in Boston! I love seeing the places where it all happened. Maybe I'm a geek, but it''s so amazing to me!

It was good and I am feeling a little bit better from the fall. Of course Ibuprofen is helping.

We've been having more incidents with Ms. Fingernails than I've shared in this thread, but today the straw broke the camel's back. She called at 7:00 this morning to say she'd be here at 7:30. That's the last we heard from her. At 8:30, a friend from church was kind enough to come, and she managed to get me up in time for church (John had to teach Adult Sunday School). I think we're done giving Ms. Fingernails grace. Clearly, she's not responsible enough for this job.

I'm sad for John. He always looks for the good in people, and he really thought she would come through this time. I hate seeing him disappointed! This time I'm more sad than angry. Tuesday night when she "forgot" that it was Tuesday and came half an hour late, I lost my willingness to trust her again, but we decided touching base on Sunday mornings would work. Guess not!

Thankfully, yesterday we had asked my friend from church to be a back-up!

In other news, the women's discipleship group will start meeting at my apartment twice a month in mid-July. I bought the book today! Including the leader, it will be four of us. We're all in our 50s, all in good marriages, and have all been Christians for several years. It should be a good group!

So sorry to hear about your attendant troubles. I've never understood how folks can be so irresponsible nor how they cannot see how their actions affect those around them.

Then again, look how faithful the Lord has been in all my struggles with attendants!

I'm glad the Personal Care Attendants' union is strictly about wages, and can't keep me from firing her. I just wish employers had unions to protect us from irresponsible employees. When attendants make repeated mistakes like Ms. Fingernails has, the consequences fall on employers. I've had to compromise in areas that affect my health, as well as areas that affect my marriage, because of her unreliability. That's so not good!
