The only thing to watch with ibuprofen is that some people don't react well to it. I get side effects from it (nausea, severe colic). I don't think it was out in paediatric form when my two were small - I'm glad it wasn't, actually, since I've now found my daughter can't tolerate it either.

Well, I tried putting Beth down before Nathan's nap, and she became terribly hysterical. Nathan even went in to talk to her. I tried again after Nathan was asleep and she fussed for less then a minute. Yesterday she was not so compliant.

Parenthood is one giant guessing game. But it's nice to have other folks who've been there, done that.

A new study has just come out showing the benefits of controlled crying for mothers and their relationship with their children.

I like how someone towards the end points out that some who are critics of this method like to use the Romanian children and others like them who never recieved ANY contact whatsoever, that's not what controlled crying is

An article from Australia shows that some research that was done showed NO behaviour issues in the children when they were older. HERE

I also found this article from a journalist and I was SO pleased to have found it, I often wondered about the "research" that critics use to scare parents into not doing controlled crying or crying it out. I was interested to see as I suspected that the reserach wasn't based on their sleep, but on constant unsoothable crying like colic but past 3 months of age. Totally different to that of a cry for a controlled cryer or crying out. Especially when you consider the ages, the time it goes on, the period of time etc...
HERE

SO!! Don't feel guilty mama's who use this method (or papa's)
