This is true with my hand up:

The Kerr family (Scotland) motto is "Late, But In Earnest"

(Apparently we showed up late to battles, but turned the tide when we got there.)

Thanks Kerr, I had been there earlier tonight. I am guessing ours will be mailed. We did file just a day or two before the 15th.

Good evening all,

I just got off the phone with the birthday girl, we had a delightful conversation.

But you need to ask her about her senior moment.

Ok Lynn, you can breath now. Finger nail biting time though, wasn't it. I was doing a link on internet, Brave win 8-6.

Thanks for the reminder. I did some checking and found out that the Kerr family was once very prominent in the Alamance County region of NC. Also the Scott family. Any relation (in either family name)?

For those who are interested in my birthday week (the rest of you can skip this post), I just got a call from our very own Utility Fielder. I think I totally made his night, and I'm not being egotistical. Thankfully, he's not easily offended and he has a great laugh for those who haven't heard it. This was definitely the first time someone called and sang "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" to me for my birthday but it was a great rendition and I feel very honored to have been the recipient of it.

Christi will appreciate that when Gary was singing, I kept thinking of "Harry Caray" although I the voice was much better. When he sang "home team" instead of "Cubbies," I thought, "Okay. He's not a Cub's fan."

It was really fun. Thank you, Gary. I hope you have a blessed evening.

I have not gotten my stimulus check but I did get my tax refund last week so that will do.

I am setting here waiting for a plumber to call. I broke an outdoor faucet and the water won't shut off.

At least the refund won't burn a hole in your pocket.

You have bad luck with water.

It took me a while to write the preceding post so I didn't see Gary's note. I'm sure he could tell my senior, er, embarrassing moment better than I can but I'll tell it in my next post and he can add to it if he wants.

My ancestors came to Tennessee from North Carolina, one step ahead of the noose.

The plumber called while I was talking to Sony. He gave me a suggestion for a temporary solution for tonight and not cost me anything. The outdoor faucets on the house are probably as old as the house (50 Years). At least I won't pay the night time rate.

SENIOR moment:

Gary called and I had no clue who he was so, being the gentleman that he is, he right away decided to help me out and sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame," letting me know that it ties in with his handle. He sings a beautiful rendition of the song and then pauses and all I could think of was Harry Caray which I knew was incorrect. (I didn't tell him that part. I haven't even heard of Harry Caray since he died!) Okay, I'll give Gary a few minutes to compose himself.

(Pause)

Anyway, I'm trying to think and my mind was blank. I was desperately trying to think of baseball fans and the ones who were coming to mind were Lynn and Christi. I kept telling myself that this is a man whose handle is related to baseball. I don't know how much time it took but finally I said, "I guess we'll have to play 20 Questions." I did ask him a couple questions but then it came to me and I felt like Snoopy on Charlie Brown when he would get embarrassed, turn red, and crawl under a table or something.

Oh well. Those are the things that make us human. Some people have brains and the rest of us learn to rely on God at a much earlier age!

And now I will do my Harry Carry imitation:

You do a good impersonation. It would have been fun to hear you do that in person.

I liked

Holy Cow, Cubs win!!!

I guess it's noteworthy that Harry was rarely sober during ballgames and it was said kind of slurred. I can hear it in my mind.

I felt bad for Harry when he would mispronounce everyone's names. The one that comes to mind now is Gonzales how he would pronounce the end with a long E sound but it seems like there were names he messed up more than that.

Do they still have different people lead "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" every day?

Sony, hope I didn't miss you.

Yes, they have a different person sing during the 7th inning stretch.

Goodnight!

SONY, THEY DO HAVE DIFFERENT PEOPLE (caught my caps) sing the anthem at every Cub game.

Good night.
