I just set my alarm, temp, then turn it back off! Though it IS much harder now with a kiddoe than it was the first time. Hence why I havent temped this cycle.

Eh, I never took my temp at the same time and I still got great charts that I could follow to achieve pregnancy, or avoid. I think that 'same time' rule is a generalization. It at least gave me an idea where I was at.

I suppose I'm one of those lucky gals, I can pretty much tell you exactly when I'm popping an egg. Now that my hormones are leveling out and getting back to normal from the prior pregnancy it is getting easy to tell again.

Thanks, ladies. I went ahead and picked up a basal thermometer when I was at Walgreens today. I'll start tomorrow, if nothing else to get in the habit.

I had two close to positive OPKs yesterday and was hoping today was the day. It is back down to a light second line. Is it possible to surge without getting a positive?? Maybe my levels just aren't as high?? You guys saying that OPKs never worked for some of you gives me hope!

I'm wondering if I should call my dr and say that if I ovulated it was later than day 14, so I know that the blood test on CD21 won't show that I ovulated....

What do you think?

You are on CD 17 or 18 now which would make your blood draw on Monday or Tuesday. Is that accurate? I *think* as long as you have ovulated before your blood draw, there should be a detectable progesterone level.

From here:
quote:

Progesterone levels usually start to elevate when an egg is released from the ovary, rise for several days, and then either continue to rise with early pregnancy or fall to initiate menstruation.

Good luck!

Well, Troy is coming home for the weekend, but it is only CD7, so I doubt it will be a productive weekend in the TTC department. It will however, be an extremely fun weekend in other departments.

A quick shout out to my cycle buddy Christa, and to all the other ladies who are beginning the dreaded 2 week wait!
Cycle Day 16 here, so more fun tonight and maybe tomorrow. . .and then we do more waiting.

I think I'm gonna wait until Day 18 to start the Progesterone cream this cycle just to make absolutely sure I've ovulated first. I'm pretty sure I'm ovulating right now though; light cramping and twinges all evening.

Well, I started temping and using Fertility Friend. Its not as overwhelming as I thought. I may have even started early enough for it to tell me something about this month. The jury is still out on whether I have ovulated. I'm thinking maybe last night. Thanks for the tips!

I hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend!

I have a feeling it's gonna be one of those cycles where I have all the symptoms of pregnancy. . .but of course I won't know anything for at least 10 days. *sigh*

This evening I had a brief but intense wave of nausea. It was weird because it came out of nowhere and then went away. On top of that I'm really tired today and feeling bloated.

I'm trying not to over analyze everything though because it just causes greater disappointment when AF shows up.

That's great, AmazedbyGrace! I hope it helps you.

Emily, hang in there. The 2ww sure can be tough.

I had my u/s yesterday. The follies are growing - yay, but we're cutting it close. I'm going out of town Wed. at noon and have the IUI scheduled that morning. Should make for a pretty hectic day, but hopefully it will all be worth it.

So, I was looking at all of my old cycles on FF, and last September I had a 22 day cycle. Do you think that those happen at the same time every year? Because if it does happen yearly, then I might have a chance this month after all, lol. Troy was here from day 7 to day 10, so it would really take a long shot, lol. My brain likes to think of random scenarios like that though, so I'm trying to keep myself grounded in reality now.

I am still praying for each of you ladies!!

Denise, it is entirely possible for your body to do the same thing around the same time of year on a regular basis. OTOH, a 22 day cycle probably is not long enough unless you ovulated extremely early in the cycle. Is that what that cycle showed?

Gracey, I understand weekends going by without things happening.

Lily--hope your IUI goes well.

Dance--it is so easy to over-analyze everything when you are TTC.

Erin--are you still hanging in there?

Amazed--good luck with the temping. It isn't that hard once you establish the habit. For me, it took awhile to break.

It was before I was temping, so I have no idea if I ovulated or not. If I did, it would have been around CD9 or 10 that cycle, because my LP has been pretty consistent throughout, even if the cycles themselves haven't.

That'd be me. <insert toe-tapping smace here> We hit day 10, day 12, and day 16, and DH has been taking the vitamins my ob/gyn recommended, so.... we'll see!

Ugh, I'm sorry SweetLittleErin. That really stinks.

Well, I feel like my body is trying to ovulate...who knows. I keep having ovulation-like pain and last night got a killer migraine (mine are usually hormone related), and still have occasional EWCM. Who knows? I feel completely clueless about all this. There is always just enough to let me get my hopes up!

I had my blood work done today to check progesterone/prolactin/TSH to try and see why I am didn't ovulate last month. Anyone know how long it takes to get those results back?? I'm pretty sure that the progesterone will show that I didn't ovulate because if I am it was in the last 3 days and I don't know that it will be high enough to tell us anything.

So, I guess I am heading into the 2WW. Fun, fun, fun! It looks like at least I have some company in here with that! :)

(((Erin))) Sorry to hear.

Amazed--that is good your body is trying to ovulate, although if you are having your progesterone serum blood check that is usually a few days before AF's arrival. Hmmm....

Company is good here, but I would love more company in another thread. Praying for y'all.

So sorry, Erin.

Amazed, wishing you the best this cycle!

I wanted to let you all know that we'll be gone for the next 10 days and I probably won't be able to check in here, but I'll be thinking of you and praying for you. My IUI is tomorrow am, but I'm not thrilled with the timing. We had to do what we could since we'll be OOT. Oh well, you never know.

Praying for you today, Lily.

Daughter_of_faith - I thought the same thing. My dr ordered the test for CD 21...if I did ovulate (temperature is going down - definitely not going up...) it wouldn't have been until at least CD 21 or 22. I called the dr (who wants me to have a 28 day cycle) and asked if I should wait a few days for the test. The rude nurse who answered my call said "no, she wants it on day 21." So I'm fairly confident that won't show anything, and now I'm fairly confident I didn't ovulate. Not really sure what to do...

I know I just started charting, but wouldn't you think I would still see my temps go up if I ovulated? I have been really consistent with timing and everything.

I am just frustrated that my cycle is already on the long side, and if I don't ovulate and have to wait to confirm that I'm not pregnant (which means a slew of negative tests) and my period doesn't show, and then do 10 more days on Provera, and then it takes 2 days for me to start -- it just seems like a long time before we'll even be able to try again.

Trying not to get discouraged. I know its not over til AF shows up...

Well, we're about packed and ready to go, but I wanted to check in before leaving. I'm not feeling real positive this month. Our timing is iffy and the count was only 2 mil. We've never had one low before - they're usually around 60 mil. Grrr. Oh well. It only takes one I guess.

Amazed, that is incredibly frustrating. I would keep charting. I guess there is a chance you are going to O late if you have long cycles, so it would be good to catch it if you can. If you O'd before you started temping you probably won't notice anything in the chart. My temps always shot up on the day of O and stayed consistently high. They only came down again when AF was coming.

Amazed...has your doctor mentioned anything about PCOS? (I'm trying to remember, sorry). The long cycles....needing provera to start a cycle, temperatures here there and everywhere, etc. makes me think PCOS. I am NOT a doctor though, but perhaps that is why he is drawing the blood on CD21 (most people have ovulated by that time in their cycle).

Lily--praying for good results!! You have such a positive attitude. It does only take one. ((hugs))--have a good trip.
