Well I was met with AF Saturday morning. I couldn't help but be a bit bummed but I am glad that my cycle seemed to be within normal ranges. I am hopping it stays that way! I ovulated on day 19 and then had a 15 day luteal phase. I am glad, especially considering that this was my first cycle off of birth control pills. So we shall see.....how it continues. But when does your temp drop? My temp is still above the converline. It has dropped but not significantly and not below the coverline. Can your temp still stay up a bit?

Mine either drops the day I start or the day after, but never longer than that. It's normal for some to have it to drop slowly. It all depends on level of hormones in your system.

Well Fertility Friends marketing worked! My VIP trial was up and I missed all the extra's. The cool colored calendar, predicted ovulation, etc. So I purchased a membership. ONly for 120 days. So we shall see how it goes. I can't believed I fell for their marketing. I am not usually like that! haha Oh well....it's all for a good cause. How is everyone doing?

Do you tell people (IRL) that you are trying? I have been telling people that we are going to stop preventing in June. You can't believe how many people ask us this all the time. I am wondering what to say after we stop preventing.

we always answer the question of "do you have kids? don't you want kids?" with something along the lines of "we don't have any yet..." or to answer "when will you have kids?" with "when God allows." Usually all questioning stops there. No one really wants to know more than that, and the average person doesn't need to know more than that.

I fell for it too, fly, and we're not even trying yet! I hope people don't start asking us about it... apparently, my MIL has already mentioned it. If we're asked, we'll probably say something like "whatever happens happens".

Yeah, I guess I think of trying as doing things to control it. Like temping and calling and saying coming home honey it is time to do whatever. LOL! I am actually shocked at how many people ask. I would be afraid cuz you don't know when people have been trying. And I never ask if someone is prego because I have had 2 people ask me at work. Ugh, no. That is just the chips I keep eating. Stupid Empire shirts! I have one friend that is trying at the same time as me. I would probably tell her, as we are in the same time in life, etc. and it would be good to have someone to talk to. But I don't really want to go around and make an announcement.

um... not to be too picky... but... taking temps is not having control over it. It simply brings a better understanding of when is the best time to conceive. I have been taking temps now for a loooooooooooooooooooooooong time, and if I had "control" over it, it would have happened well before now. =)

True, but we are not doing the best time stuff right now. It will just be, let things happen when they happen. So I don't really consider us TTC. Does that makes sence? We would just be no preventing. Which I am very happy with because I hate prevention week. :) I pray for people who have a hard time because I know I would feel broken. There is a part of me missing. and it also frustrates me that some people say the word pregnant and they are and others never get that. But everyone has their own burden to bear.

just be prepared that most of the world (that I've encountered) does not consider "not trying to prevent" as something different than "trying to conceive". Basically most people view you as doing one of 2 things, and if you aren't doing one then you are doing the other.

I posted here a few months ago. When we first started trying. I got really busy with school and have not really been around a whole lot. Still trying, still no baby. Labs came back great on me and hubby's little swimmers are just how they should be. Not sure what the issue is. We're supposed to time it "better" for another three months and then have a test to see if I have a blockage and or endometriosis. Part of me is wanting to control every inch of this, but I'm not gonna worry anymore. I am starting a new job, and going on vacation and graduating, and am jst going to enjoy this time. We're still not preventing and hoping God will get the little fellas where they are supposed to be. It's still frustrating no matter what I do. I know I don't really know any of you. I needed to vent.

I have had it since I was 12, and 6 months after getting married my husband and I concieved...no issues at all. All we used for tracking were ovulation tests. There is hope...

Yup, PCOS isn't a death sentence either.

I know it's not a death sentance. This month is just really weird, i use my fluids and position to get close to ovulation. I usually alternate sides and can feel when I am close to ovulation cause I'm really tender and crampy on that side. My right side is worse. I started this last cycle four day's early. I thought that I had a UTI cause I had to pee a lot, and treated it at home with cranberry and water, it subsided, I have been watching for ovulation and nothing, my fluids have not picked up, my position is still really high. Today is cycle day 14 and I feel like I"m no where close. I had a little cramping last evening but it's gone... I guess I'm not gonna ovulate this month. I am pretty regular, 27-29 day cycles and ovulation days 13-15, I have the normal fluid build up and position changes, this one is just not seeming to happen. What do you ladies think?

Well, I'm officially ready to start TTC again (my first baby miscarried in February at 19 weeks). The attending physician at the hospital told us we should wait 3-4 cycles before trying again; we were going to try after 3 but then DH and I got so sick in the middle of cycle #4 that DH was scared to try in case us being sick would make us miscarry. So now that cycle 4 is done, we're on our way. Or will be when the time draws near. So here I am... I don't know what to feel... happy, sad, nervous... mostly, just really, really impatient. We didn't take long to get pregnant the first time, but I find it safer to believe that it'll take forever; that way if it does take forever, I might be less disappointed. Mostly I'm just scared of miscarrying again; even if the doctors say there is no reason to think I will, there's also no reason to think I won't. I haven't started temping yet--I tracked before we got married thinking that we'd use that as BC but DH wasn't so keen on it. I think I'll want to start again, esp as my cycles are longer. Did anybody else's cycles change after either a miscarriage or a birth? Before mine was the textbook, 28-day cycle with a long, crampy period preceded by 2-3 days of spotting. Now, it's longer, and it seems like it's gotten longer every month--it was 35 days this month. I was at the point of taking a pregnancy test, even though we had been using BC, just to see if it hadn't worked, when along came my period. Go figure. I'm wondering whether my hormones are still working their way through my system and that's why the cycles are longer. I'd be quite happy if they stayed the way they are, if only they'd be shorter (now it's 4 days of flow, no spotting, one day of light cramps, rather than 3 days spotting, 6 days flow, 2 days heavy/2 days light cramps).

I don't really belong on this thread, but thought I'd just post an answer to your question, as well as say that I do pray for all those who are TTC. Anne, I had very regular cycles too before we had our baby. Afterwards, they became much longer and irregular. I suppose it's something to do with the way our bodies react to the hormones.

We have been using Pre-seed. I am very dry (residual effect of BCP even though I've been off it for over two years), so I bought some Pre-seed just in case the KY liquid might affect his swimmers. I really like it a lot. If it wasn't so expensive I'd use it all the time. I bought a tube of it on eBay instead of the individual use packets, and it has lasted me two cycles so far. I've also heard that coconut oil doesn't hurt the swimmers. We used this off and on even before TTC, and still often use it during the rest of the month when I'm not fertile. I like it, too, but it's not as liquid as Pre-seed. The liquid texture helps conception, especially if you don't have a lot of natural lube on your own, which is another reason to use the Pre-seed during those critical few days. I can't tell you if it helps conception or not in reality - I didn't conceive the first month we used it and it's too soon to tell for this cycle.

We use coconut oil... I have issues with being to dry for sex, but then at the same time I never experience a total "dry up" of CF like you would expect after ovulation...

My hubby and I have to use lube too. I tend to be dry all over my body...including down yonder. We were using KY jelly and we thought maybe that was hampering his little guys. We got pre-seed and the first time we used it, I got pregnant. I had been charting the entire time. So we used it just around the time, we thought I was fertile. I liked it. More watery than KY. As you can see from my D&C thread we miscarried, but that obviously didn't have anything to do with pre-seed. As soon as we can try again we are totally using pre-seed. Fly

I'd try it if I knew we could find it here. I don't think we'd need it as a lubricant as much as just hoping it would help our chances though! ...looks like I'll be joining you all soon. :-)
