I had one of those sonogram things...there are no words other than "weird" to describe it.

I'm sure you and your doctor will come up with a great plan and you'll be feeling better in no time!

I am most likely in the middle of perimenopause (no surprise there!) and the Mirena can be inserted and stay in for up to 6 yrs (recommended 5)...there is a very good possibility it will either completely stop my periods or whoa them up to where they are tolerable.
Yep. It was an option that was mentioned to me before my MEA. The surgeon said many women really benefited from having one. Down side ~ could affect mood and could cause an infection (possibly meaning it has to be removed). Oh ~ it could 'fall out' too.

They want to look at my ovaries and all that good stuff to rule out ovarian C (which to my SHOCK mimics perimenopause).

I had no idea!

I had one once too. The dr, a really gruff guy, reached under the sheet to grab the wand and grabbed me instead! I jumped and he got even gruffer.

No, he was some specialist at the hospital. He was a real jerk. Truly, and not just because he grabbed me.

I know he didn't do it on purpose, but he could have apologized.

That's just awful...I'd be very upset as I'm sure you both were.

That's borderline molestation...all things considered.

It has been 5 days since the endometrial biopsy and I am bleeding pretty heavy. I have a call in to the doctor who performed it to find out if this is normal. I only spotted enough to have to wear a pad the day of the first one nearly 2 yrs ago, but this time it's pretty heavy, clotty, dark and....has a foul odor.

I spoke yesterday with the nurse from my referring doctor office and when I told her how badly the biopsy hurt (I can still feel where it was taken), she was upset.

Good news though! The nurse gave me information on a program through my county that offers (free!!)sonograms for low income women!
I qualify!
Through this program I should be able to get the Mirena placed if that's what I decide to do as well.

Kim, did they give you any suggestions about what to do about the bleeding and the odor?

That's great. It's great about the mirena too ~ and I'd say that it'd be definately worth your trying it if you don't have to pay $1500 for it.

Was she able to offer any advice about the problems with the bleeding?

I have an appt with doctor who performed the biopsy on the 20th.
Nurse told me if I bleed any heavier than I am now to go to E.R.
I asked her do I still come in even if I stop between now and 20th, she said yes I need to keep this appt no matter what.
Soooo, I guess it's just watch and wait.

Appt was changed to tomorrow the 19th at 8am.
They want to do a blood fasting(?), cholesterol, B12, and not sure what other tests, give me results from biopsy and schedule sonogram.

If they're checking your cholesterol, you should definitely fast.

Memaw, hugs to you today.

The only thing I've got going on is a few restless nights lately. I don't know if our room is too warm or if it's hormones. We always have to air on and a fan running. We usually keep the house at 75 this time of year and 65 in the winter.

Went to Dr this morning, the results weren't faxed to her yet, so I am still waiting on those.
