Soul music pioneer Isaac Hayes – whose 1971 "Theme from Shaft" won the Oscar and Grammys – died Sunday in Memphis, where he lived. He was 65.
A releative discovered an unresponsive Hayes near an exercise machine in their home at midday, and Hayes was pronounced dead at 2:10 p.m. when he arrived at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office tells PEOPLE.

Hmm, I never knew who he was until he was in South Park.

I always thought that if looked-up the word: Cool in the dictionary that there should be a picture of Isaac Hayes.

Sadly that he didn't come to know Christ. it stinks that he was brainwashed by Scientology.
Not only was he a lost soul, but someone with his talent could have been very useful. Ever hear his version of "His Eye Is On The Sparrow"?

I wasn't born in '71 either but I had read about him long before the whole South Park thing. But then again I know about the guy in my Avatar and I wasn't born in 1900. :p

Just knew him when I saw the news about his death together with the news on the death of Bernie Mac. The industry will totally miss them.
