I do find it very interesting (or scary) that some of the most proclaimed satanists came from Christian upbringings.

Yes, he is. No one in the band is a "satanist". Also, guitarist Kerry King does not believe in God or religion, but finds it's more interesting to write about "satanic" topics in their songs. Most of their songs these days deal more with things like criminal or pathological behavior or general criticism of religion, etc. Sometimes Araya has gotten a little squeamish, as a Catholic, at some things that King has written about.

 "YAAAAWWWN" Slayer:Satanism as Casting Crowns:Christianity... They are held in the highest regard by those touting a similar belief system. And the last time I check, (without threats from the moderators to move this thread to the "morality and ethics" or "religion" folder) satanism isn't necissarily about actual "worship" of satan moreso than worship of self indulgence. I don't care how nice the guy maybe if he isn't living for Christ than he is living for self, which is more destructive than sacrificing cats in a graveyard on the weekends for kicks and giggles.

Yeah! I'm sure he gets "squeamish" but as long as the paychecks still clear the bank... He can look the other way! (Don't buy it!)
And shall I add that Marilyn Manson, an outspoken satanist, grew up in a supposed Christian home, I am not condoning nor condemning his parents as I don't know anything about them but a Christian upbringing does not an adult Christian make.

Yes, it is the ultimate indulgence of "what can I get for myself", the ultimate in greed just like the opposite of Christianity to the max!

NO ONE BECOMES EVIL OVERNITE, SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG HAPPENED IN THEIR LIVES THAT WAS NEVER ADDRESSED. SO HOW ABOUT ASKING WHY AND MAYBE TALKING TO THE ARTIST.
