Uploaded fine I see it there..but i don't see it in the avatar space on my posts...pls help :

I think you have to have a minimum of 50 posts before you can activate an avitar.

Did you check "Use profile picture as avatar" (or whatever, similar option is there?)

If you did, then it should pop up after you get your 50 posts--but it may wait until the next time you log in, I'm not positive about that.
