I was asked again how I can be so sure I will remarry. So I decided it was easier to bump this than to repost it.

New readers, there's a bunch of good points made in the 4 pages of this thread.

I'm still not remarried but I know she is out there somewhere and I am becomming more ready every single day.

John, I'm glad you kept this thread going for a long time. A lot of people have benefited from your touching story! Your heartfelt conviction really struck a chord with me, as I too have felt the same over the years. However, it has been years, and the years will, within a month, add up to 20. I was suddenly single when my three children were between 7 and 3. I knew I would make a wonderful wife and my three little ones needed a father. As the years dragged by, all my friends told me someone very special would come along, but none had any suggestions for me. I was "too special", they told me. I couldn't be consoled by the idea that if I were married, perhaps I couldn't have accomplished the good things that I did. I would have only been happier not to be alone. Time went on, my kids are grown, married, and having children of their own. They are my jewels and I am so proud of them. But perhaps I was being taught some kind of lesson, that marriage isn't something that happens just because you are suited for it or even dependent upon it. I've heard people say they know they will marry because God has put that desire in their hearts. I don't know what to think of that. With God, nothing is wasted, but in this world, we are subject to trials.

Since we are still alive there is still time. God will bring my new wife to me.
